Results of
Questionnaire and explanation of Charts
I based my questionnaire on Secondary research that I had
found which exposed predominant links between whether you like horror movies
and your gender. Hobbies and age. These questions helped me prove the secondary
research correct and allowed me to confirm a target audience. I also acted
questions about what they expected to be included in an opening to a horror
film, such as whose name should be included in the opening credits and what
instrument they expected to be playing.
All of this really help me and my partner make decisions
about the music, the lighting and the pace of the whole piece.
Here are
the charts I have created to show the result of our research:
This Pie chart shows
the Gender of the people that took in my survey. It’s important to take in to
account this chart when looking at different results as it’s not a far ratio of
Male and Females. The chart is also in
percentages not actual numbers.
This Chart represents the number of people who liked or
disliked the Horror film genera. This interested me because although I had
fewer males who had answered my questionnaire the majority of people still said
they liked horror movies which showed how we could still aim our film at girls.
This Graph
brakes down these results even further, showing that almost double the amount
of people who disliked horror movies, liked them. This chart also shows the
equal like and dislike of horror movies within the genders (taking in to
account the number of each that I questioned).
This chart
shows the ages of people who like/dislike the horror genera as you can see more
teenagers (16 and 17 year old) enjoyed horror movies than those that didn't.
This proved that teenagers were more interested in the effects that horror
movies had on them.
This was an interesting result as many of the participants
chose a number of options that’s why there are more responses than the people
who took part. While doing our editing this really helped us decide which names we
needed to include in our titles.
The Music
was the hardest decision that we had to make during our editing. This helped us
realize that our target audience obviously expected a form of classical,
orchestral music. Narrowing down our decisions.
